March 2007

  Quote of the month:

The higher the IT awareness, and the more public and private funds are invested in information technology, the more competitive, prosperous and affluent that country becomes.

HYPERWEB

Hervé Fischer
March 18th, 2007 in Patagonia, Chili

Dear FIAM’s members and friends. It is a pleasure to announce that Mr. Li Ping will now act as Executive Director for FIAM. He will also keep the direction of our office in Shanghai. As you may conclude, we consider China as a first market for all of us. Not to underestimate the fast and performing developments of e-markets in Europe, India, Australia and North and South America. On the contrary: the most recent exponential markets for digital technologies, services and contents are fascinating. But we are all aware of the needs and opportunities in China. Therefore, don’t hesitate contacting Mr. Li Ping. He is waiting for your questions and projects. I also would like to underline the expertise of our new webmaster Mr. Zude Le.

I was most recently in Havana, attending INFORMATICA 2007. It was a big international success. Don’t forget that Cuba is training more than 12.000 students in computing. I am now writing theses lines in extreme South Chile. Here, wireless connection is a basic urban infrastructure and Chile is as developed as Canada in all kind of digital networking, services and governance. I shall attend by the end of March an important congress in San Jose, Costa Rica: TECHNOLOGY INSIGHT 2007. This small country is reaching an incredible success with 27% of its national exportations thanks to its digital industries!

Not to speak from India (next time!), and Europe.

I would like to underline today the future of that l may call HYPERWEB: the convergence of Semantic Web and Web 2.O. This new performance simultaneously of more powerful research engines and of friendly platforms of collaborative tools, allowing a custom-made use of 3rd generation networks is incredibly promising. As is the Digital Age.

Please get in touch with us. We intend to publish regularly in formations about the activities of each of your associations.

Good luck to all of you! Un abrazo.
